Extreme Precipitation Events in Greenland & Baffin Bay - Project

The investigation of changing extreme precipitation in the Greenland-Baffin Bay region and its impacts on the surface mass balance of glaciers and ice sheets using a combination of atmospheric reanalysis (The fifth version of the ECMWF Atmospheric Reanalysis, ERA5) and regional climate models (variable resolution CESM and RACMO) with atmosphere-ice sheet coupling. This sub-project is the topic of Nicole Loeb's PhD work under the supervision of Dr. Alex Crawford and Dr. Julienne Stroeve.
