Spatial Search

🗺️ Spatial Search

Spatial search lets you find datasets by location, either by drawing a bounding box, entering coordinates, or selecting a pre‑defined area. Results are filtered and sorted by the location you specify.
The spatial search tool is found on the Home page and the Data Catalogue main page.

1️⃣ Drawing a Bounding Box

  1. Select DRAW ON MAP.
  2. Navigate to your area using the map controls.
  3. Click and drag to draw a box around the area. Coordinates appear automatically in the boxes.
  4. Click APPLY AND SEARCH to view datasets.

2️⃣ Entering Coordinates

  1. Select ENTER COORDINATES.
  2. Input latitude and longitude values.
  3. Click APPLY AND SEARCH to view datasets.
💡 Tip: Duplicate coordinates if you want to search for a single location point.

3️⃣ Selecting Pre‑defined Areas

  1. Click SELECT LOCATION.
  2. Choose from CanWIN’s pre‑defined areas.
  3. Click APPLY AND SEARCH to view datasets.
