Canadian meteorological buoy data are collected by Environment and Climate Change Canada. This subset consisting of Lake Winnipeg meteorological buoy data is extracted from realtime buoy data hosted by the Canadian Integrated Ocean Observing System (CIOOS).

These buoys are seasonal and are placed in the lake at the beginning of the open water season and removed before ice cover in the fall (approximately May-September).

The authoritative source for this data is Environment and Climate Change Canada, and can be found here. This data consists of complete wave data from all meteorological buoys, models, and unofficial Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC) observations.
