This dataset was collected during a controlled sea ice growth experiment at the Sea-ice Environmental Research Facility (SERF), University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada, from 10:19 on February 12 to 04:50 on February 20, 2021. Over a 186-hour period, 1511 time-stamped observations were recorded. The dataset captures radar and environmental parameters relevant to sea ice formation and structure, including Ku- and C-band polarimetric radar backscatter (VV, HH, HV) at a 25° incidence angle, air and surface temperature, humidity, wind speed, cumulative freezing degree moments (CFDM), salinity measurements (surface cover, ice surface, bulk ice), frost flower height, snow depth and ice thickness. Radar data were collected using a Ku- and C-band scatterometer operating at 17.2 GHz and 5.5 GHz, respectively with 30° azimuth swaths. Ice thickness ranged from approximately 27 cm to 47 cm, with surface conditions frost flower coverage and two layers of snow. This multivariate time series dataset is suitable for research in sea ice thickness modeling, remote sensing, and environmental monitoring.
