Using in situ observations in the Nansen Sound fiord system, we assessed the temperature quenching of DOM fluorescence subtracting a linear relationship with temperature for the Atlantic-derived water layer, where the terrestrial and Pacific-derived DOM fractions are weak or absent. After correcting for temperature quenching, DOM fluorescence has been used as an effective proxy for identifying water dynamics in the landfast ice-covered fjords of the Nansen Sound fiord system.\r

The data set consists of 49 CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) and FCDOM (fluorescence of colored dissolved organic matter) profiles taken in the Nansen Sound fiord system between 7 and 25 May 2025 using snowmobiles and a Twin Otter aircraft operated on skis. Observations were carried out with a RBRconcerto3 CTD outfitted with a Seapoint FCDOM sensor for EX/EM = 370/460 nm. FCDOM vertical profiles were averaged with a 7-m moving window.
